Hi all! I hope you've had a lovely weekend. I don't know if this ever happens to you, but on Monday morning, when people in my office ask me how my weekend was, I usually have to stop and think and try to remember. "I think it was good..." is my default response.
Not because I've spent the weekend in a drunken stupor or anything, just because... well, I don't know why. Because Monday morning is a hard time to function? Because ... I was going to put another reason here, but I couldn't think of another reason. Apparently Sunday night is a hard time for me to function, as well.
I think this is a cocoon. Maybe an abandoned one? It was red a few days ago, but I don't know what that means. If I had a cocoon, it'd be made of flannel and old t-shirts. |
So while I'm still in it, I'm going to attempt to document that this weekend was, in fact, swell. Let me begin by stating that the weather was gorgeous, and legit Fall was edging out Flummer for most of it. I've gotten stuff done, thanks in no small part to the music you all suggested. Speaking of music, church was fantastic this morning. The worship music was great, and then they opened the sermon with a girl singing "Don't Stop Believin'". I mean, it wasn't a worship song, but if I thought about it as a mini-bonus concert, it was fantastic.
My football teams won, which always sets a good mood. We put up trusses at the Habitat house, and I didn't get a blister this week. I don't know if that is good or bad, depending on the significance I attach to the blisters. I finished a quilting project that had been hanging over my head for a while.

I tried to quilt a few Maltese crosses on there. Turns out, I just threw some biker-gang symbols on the thing. |
Handsome and I hung out in the yard on Friday, him slaying a Styrofoam dear with his bow & arrow, me reading a book and taking artsy-fartsy photos. It was lovely.

Also while hanging out in our yard (which we really haven't done much since moving in last April, and now we won't do for much longer...) I found this weird... fruit, I guess, for lack of a better term, growing out there. Any ideas?

But now the weekend is over, and I need to go get to studying. It's weird, having not had schoolwork a part of my life for so long. Now it's back, sort of like these wisdom teeth that I keep meaning to have pulled. Sometimes I forget they're there. But other times (like now), they just push and push and make life a little less shiny & bright.
As a final note on this Sunday night, before I go tackle the mountain of laundry and get around to studying, know this: melted mozzarella does not taste as good on a pretzel as melted american cheese does. The End.
Soft Pretzel Afficianado,
TFW
