Small Things

In truth, things have felt a little crazy around here.  I mean, you've seen my living room full of boxes.  We also have yet to have confirmation on the exact closing date and time, which is slightly nervous-making, as it seems to me such an event deserves both (a) the proper prepartion, and (b) the proper build up.  I mean, we're buying our first house, here, people.  It only happens once.  I want to be properly worked up and excited for the event when it does arrive, yaknowwhatImean?

But, then, in talking to my SIL, I was reminded that it's the small things where we can find our moments of sanity.  So here's my "small things" for the day.

Maybe it's for a snack, maybe it's for breakfast.
Maybe you eat so much that you have to use a smaller-than-suggested sized pan.
Either way, inside a bowl of from-a-box brownie batter is where my worries disappear.

Grass still wet with last night's rain.
Oh, and since I can't capture it with my camera, let me add here,
The sound of last night's rain.
Also, I know that this is technically not grass, but weeds.
However, if Sonic has taught us nothing else, it's this:
When life gives you Limes, you make Limeade and pretend its just as good as Lemonade.

In the wake of last night's storm, the afternoon sun through the trees is most welcome.

This picture signifies both my appreciation for a small, 10-minute craft, and also being annoying to my dog.
Such joy, such unmitigated happiness for all (but Duke).
Such "using words that you're not sure you used right" good times.

It's so nice to remember that the molestache will not always be here.
To remember that H's upper lip is world-worthy, and not needing to be hidden.

Another "small thing": Late season fruits.
No lie, we've got about 18 of these guys poppin' up everywhere.
I mean, not everywhere.  They're not popping up on couch.
But they are all over the tomato plants out back!

And finally, I love my life in general.
Like how H does this to Duke-a-loop, and says in his announcer voice,
"If you chew tobacco, your mouth will look like this!"

It may be crazy sometimes, it may be hectic and I may wish for smoother sailing, but all in all, there's a lot of little things that add up to me being one happy, and very blessed lady.  Do you have any little things for today?
Crazy & Accepting it,
TFW
