Why SC is awesome in January

I love it down here.  It was 52*F today, on the 4th of January, in the year 2012.  For those of you keeping records, that's approximately 27*F warmer than it was in PA.  And I enjoyed every degree of it, as did Duke-a-loop.

The lakes around here are not quite full, as can be seen by the rim of orange clay around the shores of the lakes.  But they're lovely all the same.

Clemson U. may be currently losing the Orange Bowl, as I type (by about 29 points, so a comeback would be amazing and unlikely), but Clemson the city is all gloriousness and sunshine.

Handsome put both of us back on WeightWatchers.  That is, Handsome and I, not Duke and I.  Duke has no weight issues or problems getting enough exercise.

My SIL asked how I could not hear "I think you're fat" when H. mentioned that we were both going to be joining WW.  I informed her that I knew he just wanted some support in his quest for health.  However, when I asked him to read the scale, because I didn't have my glasses on, and he says, "I think it reads... F... A... T.  HA! It says you're fat!!" well, I heard it then.  While he does make me laugh (he meant it as a joke, so don't be mad), I realize that his chances of catching a second wife someday are slim to none, and decreasing daily.  So it's really in his best interest to keep me healthy!

In other news, (1) Duke appears photo-shopped onto the above picture, but he's not.  I just have a super sweet new camera that makes fake-looking pictures like that, possible.  It was my Christmas gift from Handsome and his parents, and most likely my birthday gift as well.  This is the burden of those born in early January, the one-gift-for-two-occasions thing.  But it's worth it.

Also, (2) I just listed a purse on my etsy shop.  It's my only item for sale, and I'm not in love with it, but I may as well let you know about it, since you know so much other stuff.  I don't know if I'm going to keep up with this.  If I can find the time, and keep enjoying it, I may.  Or it may be another flash-in-the-pan type thing, the stuff I'm famous for.  We'll see.

Random nights are my legacy,
TFW
