Subtitled: I Now Have a Wocket Robot in my Pocket.
Ode to a phone:
You've been my phone for 3-odd years,
I always thought our parting would bring me to tears,
It seems, instead, that I'm happy inside,
A new phone, that works?! This I can abide.
Goodbye, dear flip phone, goodbye and goodnight,
We've been together so long, it almost doesn't seem right.
But there's a new phone in town, and you're out the door
I'd sell you online, but no one uses flip phones anymore.

And so ends the era of a
I watched iRobot too many times,

Tisk Tisk!!! About TIME you get rid of that flip phone!! I will say my most fav phone ever was a teensy tiny flip phone circa 2004ish! I'd still have it if i didn't drop it and break it all to HE -LL! DOH!
ReplyDeleteI had a super tiny black one that I loved. I'm afraid I'm going to drop this one and smash it!
DeleteI just got my new smart phone a few months ago (and here I thought I was the LAST one). I had my razor flip phone for three or so years as well. I feel your pain but you will love your new freedom with the smarter phone. Did you get an IPhone? I'm not that cool yet. I just have a plain non-I, phone.
ReplyDeleteI got the Droid Razr. I just can't pay that much for a phone. Mine was on sale :)
Deletehaha! I'll admit, I held out with my oldie but goodie not-so-smart phone for a while too, but like you the GPS lured me in. I get lost. A lot. So it was necessary. :) But there's still a flip phone in our "junk" drawer just in case.
ReplyDeleteLike, how much is a "a lot"? Going to the grocery store? New part of town? In your living room? haha!
DeleteHa ha! You are very funny Thee Fire Wife. I still have one oldie, won't work without an ear piece, can't wait for a new one...lovely post!

Your secret is safe with me. AND, because you have a flip phone, your screen is safe, too. Genius! (this doesn't count as "telling", does it?)
DeleteYou already know what the answer is from 3020 Pumptown Rd., right? Don't judge.
