Small Town Love

So I participated in a chili cookoff the other weekend.

I'll spare you the suspense: I didn't win.

I'm not all that concerned, though.  I love my chili.  I didn't make anyone sick.  We're calling that a win.

In the middle of the cookoff, there was a Christmas parade.  It started like any other Christmas parade, assuming any other Christmas parade begins with the lead ambulance leaving the parade to go run a call.

Classic parade attendants.
The firefighter color gaurd.
The fire trucks.
The rescue vehicles.
Par for the course.

And then things got weird.  And by "weird", I mean fabulous.  Apparently anyone who lives in/near Townville (the actual name of the town... village... place.), who wants to be in the parade, can be.  There were the old classic cars, as well as the notsoclassic ones.

Apparently wreaths on grills are mandatory.
Helmets are not.

Sheep.
Walking down the road.
Like it's their job.

Vaguely reminiscent of this photo.
Very much awesome.
Really.  I love small towns.
