Sunny Mornings Lately

RG chilling in the baby-over-stimulation machine.
Seriously, it kind of gives me a headache just to think about sitting in something like that.
Oh, and the cookbooks are because baby girl has stumpy legs.
90th percentile for height, but stumpy legs.
Kind of like wearing 9 mo clothing, but 0-3 size shoes.
She's a pile of paradoxes, stuffed into a chubby package.
Its a good morning.  For the first time in about 4 or 5 days, Rileygirl didn't start our day before 6.  Of course, her daddio did set his alarm for 5:50, but I suppose thats just par for our course.

There were waffles for breakfast.  That always sets a good tone.  And the waffles?  They're delicioso.  SO good.  The only drawback is that you have to actually think about them the night before in order to make them in the morning.  But if you can pull that off, and if you make 'a double batch, and if there's only 2 of you in the house who are allowed to eat them, you can have waffles all week!

Our mornings are what I like to refer to as "Baby Circuit Training".  A few minutes in the jumper seat, then on to the Bumbo, then we try and sit up unassisted for a while.  Next we hit the gym, and afterwards, maybe chew on a rubber giraffe.  If there's time, we squeeze in a photo shoot.

The Gym.
Hands down RG's favorite toy.

Watching mama eat her waffles.
I can't wait to feed her real food.
Anyone ever done Baby Led Weaning?
We're gonna try it in about a month!
I'm loving this whole "being a mama" thing.  Its hard and waking up in the middle of the night for nearly 5 months is kind of sucky.  But OH. My.  Its fabulous.  She's so fun to watch.  She's learning so much.  We get to introduce her to so many things.  Right now this moment, we're "introducing" her to sleeping without a swaddle.  Which translates to me listening to her shout at me from her room.  Sleep, baby.  Sleep.

I pray a lot.  Short prayers, mostly.  Prayers like "God, what am I doing?" and "Help me figure this girl out" and mostly "Thank you.  Thank you so. very. much."  Handsome has finally finished his Paramedic school, and we're 3 short skills tests away from getting that badge in the mail.  Its been a long road.  He's been home more, and I don't think I can describe to you how wonderful it is.  SO good.  But at the same time, the pressure to finish my degree has ramped up, and since I'm not quitting, its go time.  So I also pray that God will please help me understand how to model network connectivity in a network design optimization model.  Which luckily, He understands since He's, you know, God and all.

My heart, it breaks.
So glad she gets to see him and know him.
*tears*

So our mornings have been sunny and bright.  And although they've started a little earlier than I like, they're precious.  Like waking up because someone is dumping diamonds on you.  Not how you'd like to wake up, but once you're up, its awesome!
Shine bright like a diamond,
M.
