I forgot!
I forgot to show you!
I've never looked forward to halloween so much as this year.
Except for maybe 3 years ago when Handsome & I dressed up as Bandit and Iceman from Smokey & The Bandit (I is great, II is okay, III is terrible. FYI.) Hopefully that picture will never be brought to light.
ANYhow, back to Riley.
Her first Halloween. Let me tell you, I think its important to pull inspiration from wherever you can get it. And seriously, my girl is chock-full of the stuff!
This post, in particular, is the photo that started it all. Amazing, I know. Prints are available. |
*In an unrelated note, I don't even recognize that baby anymore! She has changed so much! True story, a friend of mine (whose sister was expecting) texted me a picture of Riley, brand new, and I replied with "Oh, congratulations, whats the name??!" Because I didn't know it was my baby. (hashtag: moty)
Anyhow, the hair, right? It grips you and doesn't let you go. So, since RG's hair is obviously one of her many strengths, we decided to capitalize on it for her halloween costume. Also to note: Everyone said "oh, that will fall out." False. Her maybeline hair (you know, she's born with it?? ha!) never did fall out.
So we procured some hair chalk, a beige onesie, a little mousse, and, on the morning of the 31st, a set of cheap-o rings from the dollar store hot-glued onto magnets in order to bring you....
*drumroll*

I was so pleased, despite the fact that no one knew what she was dressed up as. I knew we nailed it.

Those legs. I die. |
Handsome was working, which is not surprising. But since firefighters are so community-minded, they were handing out candy and we got to go pay a visit to our favorite guy! I've never eaten such a small amount of halloween candy in my life. Seriously, it was pitiful. 3 starbursts, 3 sweet tarts. Not 3 packs of sweet tarts. Nope. One orange, one blue, one yellow. Three. That's it! I didn't even go buy more on Nov. 1st! I don't even know myself anymore!
Despite the lack of candy, it was a lovely halloween. My girl rocked her Troll Doll Costume, and we got to spend some time as a family. That's a win in my book! (But seriously, next year? MORE CANDY!)
Did you dress up for halloween? What is your favorite costume of all time?
<3 M.
Oh, my goodness. I laughed out loud! She is adorable.
