The Broken Christmas Seal

I'm not talking Easter Seals, the use of which I've never comprehended.

And I'm not talking a seal like this:

Yes, I made this graphic myself.
Me & National Geographic.
You're welcome.
I'm talking the seal that we metaphorically place on Christmas things about the time we finally pack away the last ornament and box up all of the lights and pine-scented candles.  "Do Not Open Until Next Christmas Season" it says, metaphorically.

Well guess what?

I broke the seal.  And again, not that cutie patootie up there.  I listened to Christmas music.  I blame Froggy Fresh.  His Christmas song, it spoke to me.  It said, "Don't wait any longer.  Christmas is wonderful and deserves more than the measly 3 1/2 weeks relegated to it this year.  John Cena would do it." or something like that.

So I did.  My car radio?  Christmas music.  My thoughts?  Drifting towards festive decorations and festiver food.  I'm not shafting Thanksgiving.  I'm lumping it.  This, my dears, is the holiday season, and it includes both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  And hanukkah, if I'm being honest, as I've got an odd abundance of Hanukkah music thanks to Amazon's free download of the day last holiday season. If someone would rock out with some great Thanksgiving tunes, I'd gladly throw them on the playlist with Kenny (Loggins, not G.) and Lou.

Today was obscenely warm for late November, but in general it has been rainy and cold and there has been frost down here, TWICE.  I know.  So it is basically winter, and winter makes one pine for warmth and family and traditions (which I'm freaking out about and may need some assistance with at a later date) and cheer.  So whether it is pumpkin-scented or pine, light that candle.  Put on the music that makes your heart happy.  Make it feel like stinkin' Southern Homes up in here, Holiday edition.  Its time, friends.

Break the seal.

(but not the cute one, the Christmas one.)
