What To Do With Pictures

So you take a bajillion pictures, just like I told ya.  You find some good ones.  The not-quite-good ones, you edit in picmonkey.  And then what?  You can print some for your Gramma.  She'll like them.  But then what?  Remember scrapbooking?  Remember the craze, where people were buying ribbons and saving stubs and it was all "how embellished can you make your pages" craziness?

Yeah, I did that.  For about a year.  And then I got engaged, and I quit.  Cold turkey.  It was hard, you know, having free time again?  And not having my house littered with paper scraps and hole punches and stickers, stickers everywhere.

But at the same time, as I relished my freedom from double-sided tape, I missed the awesome memory books.  So I tried just taping the pictures in a book but, uhm... yeah, not so fancy.  And then I quit taping them now I have a book with 4-7 pictures shoved in between each set of pages.  So that's not helping anybody, and that's not providing me with memorable moments.

Enter - shutterfly.  Now, shutterfly has no idea who I am.  But I used them to create a book for the "I'm pregnant and here's the photographic proof" book, and I loved it.  So of course when I realized that I wanted to make a book for RG's first year, they were the natural choice.

Here's a screen shot of the work in progress.  There are page setups and frames, its awesome.  Also, the huge issue - there are stickers, but they're not stuck to my legs and table and sweater.  I love them!  If you pick a theme, and find that it doesn't have all of the stickers you've been wanting, you can get more!  I'm really excited, in case you can't tell by the use of exclamation points.

This is a preview of some pages I've worked on.  If you feel like investing a little more time and don't want to go with the pre-prescribed page layouts, they also have a fabulous button,

This lets you put as many pictures on the page as you want, wherever you want them, whatever size you want them.  Total and complete freedom.  You all know I hate being told what to do - this is my jam!  As well, so that you're not limited, you can add as many pages as you want.  And text boxes, too.  Go wild!

Also, for another "what to do with pictures" note, might I recommend Instagram??  Yes, its social, and yes, there are hashtags everywhere.  But its also another storage avenue for your pictures, and there are several websites that will link directly to your IG account in order to make things with your pictures.  I have several requests in from grandparents for a RileyGirl calendar or something, and I'm thinking about using one of those.  I'll let you know how it turns out.

If you're interested in seeing pictures of my life (mostly the baby, and sometimes food), feel free to follow me on IG!  And tell me, what do you do with your pictures?  Were you a scrapbooker??  Are you still?

  1. Ok, I scrapbooked too, especially when my son was a baby. Then it fizzled out and I have zero desire, or patience for circle cutters, to get back into that game; however, love digital photo books. Love them!

Now, I'm trying to think of creative ways to use my Instagram pictures.
