SO! How you been doing??
No really. Whats up with you?
[this is kind of hard, what with the whole I-can't-hear-your-response-in-real-time thing]
Whats up with me? Well, let me tell you!
I may never be in pictures again. Not because I have an aversion to it, but because I love the pictures I'm not in so much. Like seriously? This picture?? Amazeballs. Makes me so happy. We went to an outdoor concert event (called, no lie, Spitoono) last weekend. It was a lot of fun, even if I ended up paying for RG's late bedtime with a 2AM wake-up. Red velvet funnel cake, turkey legs everywhere, and the people watching? OOTW. [psst... that means "out of this world", just so you don't have to feel like you're not in the know. Now you know.]
This picture serves as a double feature. (1) we're trying a new hairdo, since her high-flying days are, sadly, over.  I'll always miss her crazy hair, but its time to appreciate the past and move on.  (2) I feel like my child is the baby equivalent to grumpy cat.  This face, with the shirt that she clearly would not have picked out herself... its almost too much.
Lets talk daycare for a moment.  RG went to daycare for exactly 5 days.  On the 4th day, there was a sign posted that said the baby room had had an outbreak of stomach flu, and to watch for symptoms.  I'm all for building a healthy immune system, but really... didn't want to deal with that.  Fast forward to Tuesday morning when RG is hanging out at the Dr.'s office in an attempt to explain her weird leg rash (again, thanks so much, daycare...)  Foot-hand-mouth, let's hear it for the vilest-sounding virus to ever hit the Mag. house.  RG is now spending her days (since she's recovered) with a sweet neighbor who takes care of my bambina. Many less viruses, much more love.  So glad to have found the new situation!
I still miss these mornings.  This time when the sun is sneaking through our front windows and RG is fresh from her night's sleep.  I cried Thursday when I dropped her off.  And when people asked me how I was.  And when I picked her up and drove her home.  Its taking some adjusting, but we're going to keep trying, partially because I'm stubborn and partially because I've promised to both teach this semester and to finish my degree, neither of which happens when RG & I bum around the house all day.  But when life throws me a random morning that I get to enjoy with my girl, I'm also promising that I'm going to soak it up!
And finally, just to show off these cute cute pictures reiterate, I love love love when Handsome & RG play.  Makes my heart burst with contentement.

She's getting SO big! I love her grumpy face in that second photo.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found something that works better for you than daycare.
And to answer your question, not much going on at the moment....dreading a late night run to the grocery store, because I put off shopping until we've eaten the very last bit of food in the house. Not ideal.

I'd like to be able to tell you to 'buck up' cause that's what you need to hear. But then I look at those fat legs and that slobbery face and I'm right there with you. Sorry. No help.
ReplyDeleteThe I love hugs picture is absolutely amazing and if you don't use it at some point in her teenage future to embarrass her, then we can't be friends.
